Inside the cockpit here, a person is safe from most of the dangers of that kind of speed. It an still be intense on the pilot, but if they are properly trained, they can deal with it better. Aircraft are usually designed with the pilot's safety in mind.

And aircraft can be very large. If you can see the seat in there, that should give you an idea of how big they can be.
